Aurash Khawarzad is an Artist, Educator, and Urban Planner. For the past ten years he has been practicing in New York City. His work emphasizes the combination of art, scientific research, and democracy, in the process of urban redevelopment. Most recently he led the creation of The Upper Manhattan Project, a multi-disciplinary strategy that prepares NYC for climate change. Aurash’s work has always striven to combine beauty and technical proficiency. He believes that by collaborating across disciplines we can develop creative and sustainable solutions that change society in fundamentally necessary ways.
